Bhalla for better work culture in Cooperative institutions

JAMMU, Nov 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said that the Government has taken several revolutionary steps to revive the cooperative sector in the State during the past four years and encouraging indicators are visible on the ground.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at 59th Cooperative Week-2012 function organized by the Co-operative School of Education and Research here today at Cooperative Public Higher Secondary School, Deeli .
Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance, Higher Education, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma was also present on the  occasion.
The Minister said that   efforts are afoot to improve the functioning of Cooperative institutions, including Jammu Citizen Cooperative Bank (JCCB), JAKFED and Super Baazar on modern lines to make them competitive and vibrant. He said cooperative movement was the prime need of hour, adding that without this system the economic status in agrarian societies cannot be improved.
Expressing satisfaction on the performance of the JCCB and other organizations under the Cooperative Ministry, Mr. Bhalla said that with the collective efforts of its employees, the financial profile of these institutions has improved substantially. The employees of JAKFED and Super Bazaar have been recently given the benefits of 6th Pay Commission which itself speaks about their substantial contribution towards cooperative movement. He stressed upon the JCCB to step up its efforts to realize the recovery which is important factor for the sustenance of a financial institution. He said the officials who will achieve the targets will be suitably rewarded.
Responding to the demand of school management, Mr. Bhalla announced Rs. 10 lakh for construction of examination hall and other infrastructure for students out of his CDF in Cooperative Public Higher Secondary School, Deeli. He asked the school authorities to prepare the plan for early start of work.
Registrar Cooperatives Sudershan Sharma, Ex-MLA Baldev Raj Sharma, eminent educationalist I D Soni, Additional Registrar Cooperative Society Sheela Bhagat, Joint Registrar Nitu Gupta, Principal of the school, Ch. Hussain Mohammad, besides prominent personalities parents and students in large numbers were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly applauded by the audience.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Shiva Colony, Deep Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Chib Mohalla and inspected the ongoing macadamization work in these localities. He asked the executing agencies to complete the project within time frame.
