JAMMU, Apr 25 : Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla today said that innovative measures have been taken during the last three years by the Coalition government have been to uster the State towards the goal of peace, progress and prosperity.
This was stated by Minister while kick starting construction work of lanes and drains at an estimated cost of Rs. 8 lakh at Harijan Basti, Sunjawan today.
Mr. Bhalla said that he was well conversant with the problems of the people of these areas and efforts are being made to fulfil their genuine demands. He said that our state is witnessing fast track development in different sectors and various schemes for the welfare of general public are being launched in a phased manner for the overall development. He said that it is the endeavour of the Coalition government to provide all basic facilities to the people like power and water supply, road connectivity, education, medicare facilities at their doorsteps.
Highlighting the contribution of MGNREGA, PMGSY and other important centrally sponsored schemes, the Minister said that such schemes have ensured socio-economic development of the people and Government will take further measures for welfare of the poor sections of the society.
Mr. Bhalla directed the concerned authorities to conduct accurate BPL survey of the deserving families so that the benefit could go to the real beneficiaries. He asked the PHE and PDD authorities to keep their activities at maximum to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply in the area.
