Bhalla launches development works

JAMMU, Mar 14: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today asked the Government functionaries to reach out to people and solve their problems without delay.
The Minister, with a team of officer, was launching Rs 9 lakh development works in Govindpura locality (Ward No 58).
The Minister said that the Government was making all out efforts to redress all the development related problems of the people. He asked the officers to reach out to the people and assess their development needs. He asked them to make regular visits to the areas under their jurisdiction and solve people’s development related issues without any delay. He called upon the people to personally monitor the ongoing development works and the quality of material being used. He said the Government has resolved to create durable assets for the people.
Listing the measures taken by the Government to improve the basic amenities in his home constituency, the Minister said that crores of rupees have been spent on commissioning of 25 deep drill tubewells including laying of water supply pipes in peripherial areas, besides newly developed colonies.
Mr. Bhalla said that Government has earmarked Rs 4.78 crore for construction of 133/11 KVA receiving station at Shastri Nagar, adding that the project would be completed within stipulated time frame.
He said on its completion the power supply scenario in Shastri Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal, Nai Basti and some areas of Digiana and Rani Talab areas would improve to a large extent.
The Minister assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
