Bhalla launches Rs 20 lakh development works

JAMMU, Jan 25: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla on today said that the Coalition Government was committed to develop all the urban peripheral areas of the State with focused attention to improve basic amenities.
This was Stated by the Minister while interacting with the inhabitants of Ambedkar Nagar and Nanak Nagar after launching Rs. 20 lakh development works like modernization of nallah at Ambedkar Nagar and lanes and drains at Nanak Nagar W No. 43, here today.
Bhalla directed the concerned higher ups to personally monitor the execution of all ongoing development works, adding that there should be no compromise on quality.
The Minister said that the Government is committed to create durable assets in the State under core sectors and for the purpose there was no constraint of funds. The Minister said that Government is keen to address public concerns on priority and the development machinery has already been geared up for timely redressal of the development related issues of the people across the State .
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people not to encroach nallah and lanes by extending their ramps and compound walls, adding that such practices are creating hindrances for the executing agencies in developing the areas. He urged them to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the ongoing development works in their respective Colonies.
Responding to demand of Ambedkar Nagar inhabitants, the Minister instructed R&B authorities to formulate estimates for funding so that necessary repairs and up-gradation of link road of the area would be taken at the earliest.
Bhalla called upon the people to continue their wholehearted cooperation to the Government for achieving the developmental goal initiated by the Government for making Jammu and Kashmir a developed State of the country.
