Bhalla launches Rs 75 lakh works

JAMMU, Mar 11: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, today launched Rs. 75 lakh works at Gorkha Nagar  cremation ground near Bagh-e-Bahu.
The Minister said that this amount will be spent for up gradation of approach road to cremation ground including its widening, construction of cremation and waiting sheds besides inter-lock tiles in the premises.
Bhalla asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation to complete the project within the stipulated time frame. He asked the officers to remove way-side illegally raised infrastructure so that the construction work at Gorkha Nagar cremation ground could be completed in time. He asked the executing agency to use quality material on the work.
The Minister said that Government is making all out efforts to develop Gorkha Nagar, Sheikh Nagar, Pacca Talab, Kacha Talab, Bazigar Basti, Boria Colony, Shahabad and Qasim Nagar of Bahu Fort areas with all basic amenities.
Bhalla said that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.5 crore for up gradation of power infrastructure in Bahu Fort and its adjoining areas. He said that focus of the Government was to develop Bahu Fort on modern lines by providing all basic amenities to the people.
On the holistic development of embankments of river Tawi, Mr. Bhalla said that view points, roads and other related infrastructure at Bagh-e-Bahu are being upgraded and renovated with inbuilt latest facilities for the tourists.
The Minister said that Government has sanctioned Rs. 75 lakh for construction of play field near Government Higher Secondary School Bahu Fort. He said the project is in progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame.
