Bhalla launches up-gradation work on Bilal Colony link road

JAMMU, Mar 13: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today launched the up-gradation work on the Bilal Colony link road, besides deep drain near Malik Market in Narwal.
After laying foundation stone, Mr. Bhalla interacted with the locals and said the Government has earmarked Rs. 18 lakh for this purpose, adding that work on link road and deep drain on both sides of the road would be completed within stipulated time frame. He asked the executing agency to expedite the  work and complete the same work  on fast track basis so that the people may not face any inconvenience.
Mr. Bhalla issued on spot instructions to concerned for early start of up-gradation work of left out lanes and drains in the area as well. He informed that Government has released Rs. 50 lakh for this purpose. He also asked for immediate lifting of debris from the lanes of the  localities to  start the restoration works.
The Minister asked the allied departments to personally monitor the quality of material being used in development works.
The Minister also conducted an extensive tour to Bilal Colony, Umar Colony, Malik Market, Pamposh Colony, Rajiv Nagar, Karayani Talab, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar and Shanker Colony to review the losses caused due to flash floods during last year monsoon.
Later, several deputations and individuals of Umar Colony, Malik Market, Pamposh Colony, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Bilal Colony and Shanker Colony met the Minister and projected their development related problems, including construction of overhead bridge near Malik Market, installation of high mast lights in the main chowks, up-gradation of lanes and link roads, adequate drinking water facilities in the water stress  areas, installation of poles in left out areas and ATM facilities.
Mr. Bhalla directed the concerned departments for early redressal of all these issues.
