Bhalla lays foundation of deep drill tube well

JAMMU, May 25: To deal with drinking water scarcity in Kanthu Mohalla and Friends Colony in Trikuta Nagar Extension, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today laid foundation of deep drill tube well to be completed at a cost of Rs. 38 lakh.
Addressing a gathering, Mr Bhalla said on the commissioning of tube well, the drinking water scarcity in these areas would be solved to a large extent. He said the Government is committed to provide adequate drinking water facilities to every inhabitation of the State with a population of 500 souls by digging deep drill tube wells.
For providing adequate drinking water facilities to the people of his home constituency, Mr. Bhalla said Government has already commissioned 22 tube wells under ERA and 10 under state plan to ensure that no household remains without this vital facility. He called upon the people not to waste drinking water and use it judiciously.
Responding to the locals demand, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 40 lakh for road widening and macademisation of sector-9 internal links, adding that the project is under progress for the benefit of inhabitants of the locality. He stressed upon the executing agency to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works in their respective jurisdictions.
The Minister said Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps. He asked the inhabitants to protect public properties in their respective areas, adding that Government has been spending worth crores of rupees for developing every corner of the state on modern lines by creating concrete assets.
Mr. Bhalla asked the officers to reach the people and resolve their problems without any hindrances. He said fulfilling people’s aspirations and developmental needs was the top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
