Bhalla lays foundation stone of community hall

JAMMU, June 15: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to revive overall profile of the State by constructing latest infrastructure facilities in every nook and corner.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at Qasim Nagar W No. 47 in Bahu Fort after laying foundation stone of multipurpose community hall, here today.
Mr. Bhalla said the multipurpose community hall would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 75 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). He asked the JMC to complete the building within stipulated time frame so that the people of the area could arrange their social as well as religious functions there on nominal charges.
For facilitating the people of Gorkha Nagar, Bazigar Basti, Rabi Dass Basti and Bahu Fort, the Minister informed that Government has already dedicated seven multipurpose community halls to the residents involving Rs. 3.5 crore.
The Minister informed that Government has launched various schemes to upgrade the socio-economic condition of the poor like Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP), Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) and Rajiv Awas Yojna (RAY). He called upon the people to avail the benefits of such schemes. He urged the Below Poverty Line State Subject houseless people to fill the form under BSUP scheme, adding that under the scheme, Government has provided Rs. 2.75 lakh to each houseless BPL family for construction of Pacca Houses.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to extend their cooperation to the Government in making every locality of the State with modern line facilities. He informed that there was no constraint of funds in meeting the development related issues of the people across the State.
Bhalla said that Government is also on a job for construction of cable car project from Mahamaya to Bahu-Fort and Mahamaya to Peer Kho besides development of golf course and restoration of pristine glory of Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex.
For facilitating the pilgrims and tourists at Bahu Fort area, Bhalla said the Government has created modern line wayside facilities like recreational garden, aquarium, balidan stumb, landscaping, view points, toilet blocks, fencing, illumination, drinking water besides construction of darshani deodi near Kalika Colony, he added.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Digiana W No. 45 and Trikuta Nagar near Panj Mandir and kick started various development works including construction of slab over nallah in Trikuta Nagar and upgradation work of lanes and drains including grating facilities, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 12 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the launched projects within stipulated time frame.
Responding to the demand of locals, the Minister asked the JMC to immediately start the blacktopping work of link roads of Sector 5 of the Trikuta Nagar and complete the job well before the onset of monsoon.
