Jammu, Nov 29: Senior Congress leader, Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture and Congress candidate from Gandhi Nagar Constituency Raman Bhalla hoped that the common masses will rise above the divisive politics of religion, regionalism and casteism and vote for development of the State.
He asked the people to give befitting reply to all divisive forces and vote in favour of Congress party candidates, so as to form next Government in J&K led by Congress.
Minister stated that the remarkable works done by Congress have benefited the common masses to get their problems solved at their door steps.
He stated this while addressing public gatherings after inaugurating election offices of the Congress party at Shastri Nagar and Nai Basti areas in Gandhi Nagar constituency here today.
Later, Minister also addressed public meetings in Gorkha Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Mohallah Jourian, Govindpura and Jawahar Nagar areas.
He stated that the people of the whole State witnessed unimaginable growth and development during Congress regime.
Apart from creating unthinkable infrastructural facilities across Jammu and Kashmir, Congress continued the spree of growth and development, whether it was creation of new administrative units, opening of health centres, new ITI, polytechnic, degree colleges and upgradation of various high and higher secondary schools, Bhalla added.
Minister said that Congress party leaders were successful in raking up important issues related to down trodden people especially Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and all these issues will be settled on priority basis after the formation of the next Government in the State led by Congress Chief Minister.
He exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secularism policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities, are given a befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the State.
Among others present were Shah, Vaishno, Meenu, Bana Singh, Ex-corporator SC Verma, Deepak, Sonu, Sanjeev, Rakesh Gupta, Sonu Dogra, Sunny, Lucky, Simran, Ex-Corporator Kulbhushan Sharma, Ravinder Kotwal, etc.
Meanwhile, National Conference (NC) leader and Ex-Corporator Jaswant Singh Sudan along with his five hundred supporters joined Congress party and extended full support to the Congress candidate Raman Bhalla.
