JAMMU, Feb 10: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today sought the cooperation of people to carry forward the development plans framed by the Government for their respective areas.
Addressing a large gathering at Upper Gadigarh, here today, the Minister said that creation of new administrative units in the State was a historical decision of the Government, adding that the move would largely help in meeting aspiration of the people in the benefitted areas.
The Minister said that the Government was fully resolved to improve living condition of the people by making available all basic facilities in every area of the State. He appealed the people to extend their cooperation to the Government in taking forward the developmental projects started in their areas.
Mr Bhalla said that the Government was committed to provide all infrastructural facilities to the inhabitants of peripheral areas at par with urban centres including adequate drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education, road connectivity and drainage system.
Listing the measures taken by the Government in Lower Gaddigarh, the Minister said that Government has released Rs. 78.08 lakh for construction of cremation ground in the area, adding that the R&B Department was executing the work.
Mr. Bhalla asked the concerned officers to complete the ongoing construction work of cremation shed, waiting shed, approach-road and water reservoir within stipulated time frame. He asked the locals to personally monitor the works in their locality and inform the higher authorities in case they notice any laxity on the part of the executing agency.
Mr. Bhalla also informed the locals that a Primary Health Centre costing Rs. 1.60 crore was nearing completion at Bhour camp. He said the Government is also planning to construct one more hospital in the Lower Gadigarh, for which detailed project report worth Rs1.50 crore has been submitted to concerned Ministry for funding.
