Bhan for formation of CMP among KP organizations

JAMMU, June 2: Former DGP and member Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Dr Ashok Bhan stressed on formation of Common Minimum Programme (CMP) among the various Kashmiri Pandit organizations on some important issues being faced by the displaced community.
Dr Bhan who was the chief guest at Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) convention here today said consensus needs to be evolved among the community organizations on the four major issues which are on the agenda of YAIKS.
The issues on YAIKS agenda are exploring ways and means for restoration of political, social, economic and cultural rights of Kashmiri Pandits in the State and in other parts of the country. Streamlining, up gradation and updating of electoral rolls of KPs ensuring inclusion of all eligible persons as voters, honourable and dignified return of KPs to Valley keeping intact their identity, asking political parties to clear their stand in their election manifesto’s of 2014 with regard to this, implementation of PM’s employment package for KP youth in full, with one time compensation to over-aged youth of the community, fostering unity in the rank and file of the community and its political empowerment in the State that includes representation in the State and Central Legislatures and in the Municipal bodies.
Besides the protection of Hindu religious places in Valley can also be part of this CMP, he said, adding this will pave for mitigation of sufferings of the community and its return to Valley.
Earlier YAIKS announced 27 coordinators for 27 Assembly segments of the Valley while for the remaining constituencies the nominations will be made in near future.
Earlier Dr Bhan was conferred with Gash Taruk Award by YAIKS president R K Bhat for his life long achievements as a police officer.
The constituency wise coordinators included Sunil Koul for Anantnag, Bal Krishan Bhat for Dooru, Dwarika Nath Bhat for Kokernag, Rakesh Koul for Shangus, Sunil Dhar for Bijbehara, Shuban Sharma for Pahalgam, Rakesh Bhat for Noorabad, Deepak Dhar for Kulgam, Sunil Kumar Bhat for Hom Shali Bugh, Vijay Kumar Raina for Devsar, Sanjay Pandita for Tral, Sunil Pandita for Pampore, Ajay Koul for Pulwama, Deepak Koul for Rajpura, Suraj Kapoor for Eid Gah, Vijay Safaya for Khanyar, Ajay Safaya for Habakadal, Manoj Handoo for Shopian, Rakesh Koul for Rafiabad, Sanjay Ganjoo for Sopore, Sanjay Pandita for Sangrama, Deepak Khar for Tangmarg,  Sunil Peshin for Kupwara, Anil Pandita for Lolab, Ajay Raina for Langate and Raju Bhat for Chadoora.
These coordinators were administered oath by Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb a saint and scholar.
Addressing the convention, R K Bhat said the community has to fight for its rights politically now as enough is enough and miseries of displaced people from Valley did not end during last 23 years of turmoil.
He said YAIKS has taken the lead as the traditional leaders betrayed the community and youth will decide their future themselves.
He also made a dig at Government for not providing jobs to the youth in the waiting list in lieu of reserved category after de-reserving these posts despite the Cabinet decision.
He urged the newly appointed coordinators to work hard and make community to feel proud of its youth.
Others on dais included K K Khosa president KP Sabha , Jammu, Prof A N Sadhu, Apex Committee member,  B L Saraf retired Session judge, Ashok Braru, vice president K P Sabha and Kanya Lal Pandita advocate.
