JAMMU, Aug 1: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi along with the Council CEO, Ramesh Chander (ADDC Jammu) convened a meeting with the Joint Director of Education Development, H R Pakhroo in the presence of CEO Jammu Suraj Rathore at the PWD Guest House Gandhinagar here today.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Vice Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Jammu, Suraj Singh, DDC Member, Suresh Sharma, Vidya Motton, Sharda Bhau and Balbir Kumar.
The Members apprised the officials of Education Department through Chairman Bharat Bhushan Bodhi about the deplorable condition of Government schools on account of lacking adequate infrastructure as a result of which the students studying the in schools are suffering for no fault of theirs.
Bharat Bhushan informed the officials that there is no boundary wall of several schools in district Jammu, while the school buildings has been craving for its renovation since long but nothing of the sort has been done to address this serious issue. He said that during the incessant rains a few days back the condition of the schools have further deteriorated and it would not be wrong to state that the school buildings are quite unsafe and as such a great risk to the students, staff members and the administrative staff of the schools.
Chairman DDC, Bharat Bhushan asserted that there is a dire need to renovate the school buildings without any further delay failing which it would result in unnecessary loss of life and further deterioration of the already damaged infrastructure.
DDC Member Suresh Sharma gave details of the pitiable condition of government schools in a detailed manner.
After listening to various aspects of the issue explained in detail by the DDC Chairman, the Joint Director Education assured that all the issues will be resolved within the stipulated time frame especially keeping in view that the lives of the students and staff of the schools are at risk.
