JAMMU, Dec 11: Bharat Darshan tour of Children hailing for remote areas of Jammu region, organized at BSF Frontier HQ Paloura concluded here today.
A total of 35 students, with 20 boys and 15 girls participated in this tour.
Earlier, Hardeep Singh, DIG/PSO BSF Frontier HQ Jammu and other BSF officials presented welcomed the students and interacted with them.
This capacity building tour was flagged off by N S Jamwal, IG BSF on December 6, 2019 as a part of Confidence Building measures.
Male and female students hailing from remote border areas of Jammu region enjoyed the visit to various historical places in Gujarat.
Children visited the Statue of Unity, Amul Dairy, Science City, Vintage Car Museum, Sabermati Ashram, Sabermati River front and many other monuments in Ahmedabad.
Hardeep Singh DIG/PSO Jammu while addressing said that man learns when he steps out of his surroundings, and those who are selected for this tour out of thousands of children in the Union Territory of J & K are really lucky ones adding at this early age it is a great opportunity for these children to know about the rich heritage, culture, people and understanding unity in diversity of India.
The Bharat Darshan Tours for the children from Jammu & Kashmir, were started by BSF in the year 2001 and has been an annual feature of BSF Jammu Frontier since then.
The children are selected for Bharat Darshan as a part of intensive civic action programme of the force from remote and backward areas of the border.
This tour is conducted to give them insights into the rich historical, cultural and social profile of the country. The tour also aimed at inculcating them a sense of pride for the nation.
