Bharat Jago Run held to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

JAMMU, Sept 11: Bharat Jago Run was held to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
As a part of year long celebrations of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary, “Bharat Jago Daud” was organized, which was flagged off by Swami Someshwar Chaitanya ji from Parade Ground. A large number of youth from different schools and colleges participated in the race, which passed through various areas of the city and culminated outside Press Club.
Gian Chand Sanhotra, Convenor Swami Vivekanand Sardha Shati, Northern India, explained in brief, the importance of the event. Puran Chand Sharma, Sanyojak Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Simiti, Jugal Kishore Gupta, Secretary, J&K Samaroh Samiti and Rajesh Vaid, general secretary J&K Krida Bhartia and organizer of the event were also present.
In connection with the celebrations of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a function to highlight his teachings was today organized by Swami Vivekanand Sardh Shati Samaroh Smiti at Bari Brahmana, in which large number of students, teachers and prominent persons participated.
Deputy Commissioner Samba RK Verma while addressing the gathering stressed upon the need of adoption of the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
Later, Verma along with the senior vice president of BJP Chander Prakash Ganga flagged off Bharat Jago Run from SIDCO Ground Bari Brahmana in which about 1200 students of various schools participated.
Vivekananda College of Education, Kathua also organized “Bharat Jago Run”, which started from old Bus-Stand Kathua and culminated at Ramlila Ground.
The “Bharat Jago Run” was flagged off by Deputy Commandant of CRPF RK Gupta in presence of Dr Sudarshan Gupta from Vivekananda College of Education.
Hundreds of students from various schools and colleges participated in the run.
