Bharat Scouts & Guides present flag stickers to GOC

JAMMU, Mar 11: A `Flag Sticker’ and `Scouts Scarf’ Presentation ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides was held today.
During the ceremony, young scouts and guides drawn from various schools presented the stickers and scarves to Major General Ashwani Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division.
ID Soni, State Commissioner, Scouts and Guides, Wg Cdr MM Joshi (Retd), Zonal Commissioner Scouts and Guides, RK Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Scouts and Guides, Dr Gurcharan Singh Ghai, Ph D, Trg Commissioner Scouts and Guides were also present.
While speaking, ID Soni and Wg Cdr MM Joshi briefed the GOC and officers about the origin of the Scouts and Guides Movement. They highlighted the importance of all round development of the children through holistic education vis-à-vis formal, informal and non-formal education.
A discussion about the day-to-day activities of the Bharat Scouts and Guides was also held.
In his address to the young Scouts and Guides, GOC stated that the childhood years were the crucial moulding phase of life, during which the inculcation and imbibing of correct value system and the spirit of service, by the young children was of utmost importance.
He stressed on the need for the young scouts and guides, who were the future leaders of tomorrow, to make optimum use of their scouts training and to also participate in sports and adventure activities, in order to develop all rounded personality and leadership qualities.
