JAMMU, Sept 22: Bharat Vikas Parishad J&K Prant organized Mahila Sammelan at Trikuta Nagar today in which Deputy Mayor, JMC, Dr Purnima Sharma was the chief guest.
The welcome address was made by Amita Sharma , State president BVP and Dr Santosh Gupta, regional secretary, Mahila and Balvikas spoke on the activities of the BVP. Anjali Sharma retired Director Radio Kashmir Jammu was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Total 80 members of BVP participated in the programme.
The ladies gave varied information on the role of women in making a valuable and affectionate society. Special emphasis was laid on the use of Khadi bag and banning of plastic bags from the society to make city clean and green.
Madhu Gupta , State convener, Mahila and Bal Vikas , Vanita Kohli , State vice president and Seema Sharma , State convener, Bal and Yuva Sanskar jointly conducted the programme.
On the occasion a special talk was held to save water and electricity and Beti Bacho and Beti Padhao”. Dr Meenakshi Kotwal gave a lecture on health awareness and Manisha Sharma spoke on psychological issues related to women and lecture on yoga was given by Prem Lata. Ladies members of various branches conducted a variety of cultural programmes on this occasion.

Prominent members present on the occasion were Arun Sharma regional secretary North, T C Taggar, State general secretary, Vijay Sharma, Dr Raj Kumari, Trishla Gupta, Sukriti Gupta, Meena Rohmetra, Poonam Gupta and Ved Gupta Prant patron. The vote of thanks was proposed by Sunita Gupta, president Trikuta Nagar Branch of BVP.
