JAMMU, Apr 10: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS), Ranbir House, Trikuta Nagar Branch, marked its Foundation Day with great zeal and reverence today.
The event was graced by senior BJP leader, Rekha Mahajan, as the chief guest. She acknowledged the Sansthan’s pivotal role in promoting holistic health and well-being through the timeless discipline of yoga.
In her address, Rekha Mahajan highlighted the relevance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world, emphasizing its roots in the Bharatiya cultural heritage. “Organizations like Bharatiya Yog Sansthan are the torchbearers of our ancient values and cultural ethos. Their selfless service to society through yoga is truly commendable,” she said.
Earlier, the programme commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by a warm welcome of dignitaries.
Prominent attendees included retired KAS Chandra Gupta, provincial member Colonel V S Jamwal, and centre chief Savita Gupta, who all have been associated with the Sansthan’s activities and mission for years.
Colonel V S Jamwal (Retired) elaborated on the upcoming initiatives and programmes of the Sansthan, emphasizing their focus on increasing youth engagement and wider community participation in yoga practices. He highlighted that these efforts aim to create a more health-conscious and disciplined society by integrating yoga into daily lives, especially among the younger generation.
Savita Gupta shared a brief history and vision of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, elaborating on its humble beginnings and its expansion across India and beyond, spreading the message of health, unity, and inner peace.
Suresh Gupta, serving as ‘mantri’, efficiently conducted the proceedings of the programme.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to continue the mission of spreading yogic wisdom and Bharatiya cultural values across the region.
