JAMMU, Dec 25: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Jammu celebrated Mahila Yog Divas today by organizing a grand function at Yog Ashram, Gole Gujral, Jammu.
The function which started at 2:30 PM and ended at 4: 30 PM, was attended by a large number fo Yoga lovers, besides Shikshaks and Sadhaks of the Sansthan.
Mahamandleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri Ji Maharaj had come especially from Jabalpur (MP) to attend the function. Addressing the gathering, Swami Ji said that Bharatiya Yog Sansthan is promoting and teaching Yoga free of cost through a network of over 125 Yog Kendras in Jammu and surrounding areas.
Swami Ji urged the gathering to adopt Yoga in their daily routine for a healthy mind and body. He said Yoga teaches us truthfulness and to be free from attachments, he further said that it is unfortunate that some ignorant people try to link Yoga with religion but popularity of Yoga in some Gulf countries should be an eye opener for them.
Deputy Mayor Jammu, Advocate Purnima Sharma was the special guest on the occasion. She lauded the role of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan for celebrating December 25 as Mahila Shakti Yog Divas and hoped that the Yog Sansthanwill further work to involve more and more women in Yog.
Speaking on the occasion, Satya Pal, J&K Pradhan of Bhartiya Yog Sansthan said that the Yog Sansthan is a non sectarian, social, cultural and non-profit making organization, serving the humanity/aspirants both within and outside India for more than 53 years now.
Satya Pal said that organization has dedicated itsef to the cause of teaching Yoga to people. He informed that Yoga is being taught daily free of cost at 120 Yog Kendras in and around Jammu.
Corporators, Dwarika Choudhary, Satpal Kurlopia, Bhanu Gupta and Pritam Chand besides Dr Suresh Gupta (Health Officer, JMC) and about 600 prominent citizens and Yog Sadhaks participated in the function.
