JAMMU, Aug 29: Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj has been elected as President of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu whereas Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli) is new Vice President, Surjeet Andotra General Secretary, Aditya Sharma Joint Secretary and Amandeep Singh Treasurer. According to the Returning Officer Surinder Singh, for President candidate, Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj secured 651 votes whereas Nirmal Kotwal secured 421 votes, Ranjit Singh secured 217 votes whereas Ashok Sharma bagged 123 votes.
Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj has been elected as President of the Association for the third time. He remained President in the year 1999 to 2000 and 2012 to 2014.
The Returning Officer further said that for Vice President candidate, Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli) secured 540 votes whereas Gurjeet Singh secured 269 votes, Rohit Verma secured 269 votes and Prem Singh Pawar secured 323 votes. Mohinder Pal Singh Palli remained President of Young Lawyers Association for seven years.
For the post of General Secretary, Surjeet Singh Andotra secured 563 votes, Amit Gupta secured 536 votes and Himanshu Sharma bagged 310 votes.
For the post of Joint Secretary, Aditya Sharma secured 711 votes whereas Atul Sharma secured 699 votes. For the post of Treasurer, Amandeep Singh secured 902 votes and Sahil Sharma secured 498 votes.
