Bharti launches Airtel money in J&K

JAMMU, Nov 22: Bharti Airtel, through its wholly owned subsidiary Airtel M Commerce Services Limited (AMSL), today announced the launch of `Airtel money’ in the State. It is country’s first of its kind mobile wallet service by a mobile operator so far.
This was stated by Dharmender Khajuria COO J&K Bharti Airtel while talking to reporters here this afternoon.
He said the ‘Airtel money’ has already been launched in the rest parts of the country and it has received a good public response. Now available across 300 key cities in India – “airtel money” is a fast, simple and secure service that allows its users to load cash on their mobile devices and spend it to pay utility bills and recharge shops at 7000 merchant outlets, transact online etc, he added.
He said apart from serving as an easy alternative to cash / card payment options, Airtel money is also the first mobile based service to offer customers the convenience of instant money transfer to prepaid wallets and bank accounts. With this, customers in Jammu & Kashmir can now use ‘Airtel money’ to make payments and transfer money across the country at anytime, anywhere, he added.
Through the use of projector he also explained that how ‘Airtel money’ works. It is an innovative technology and it will change the life of the people, Khajuria said.
The Subscriber has to dial 400# and register on www.airtelmoney.in / visit nearest ‘Airtel money’ retailer to fill the application form and submit KYC documents one copy of identity proof, one copy of address proof, one passport size photo to activate his service.
He said through `Airtel money’ a customer can pay bills of mobile, electricity, gas and financial services, recharge his mobile. A customer can send money directly to the bank accounts of his friend, family members, buy online movie tickets. He has to simply choose his MPIN to activate the account.
He said the customers can choose from 2 types of airtel money accounts one is – Express Account and another is Power Account. In Express Account one can make spending upto Rs 10,000 while in Power account a consumer can make spending up to Rs 50,000.
