JAMMU, Dec 11: The culmination event of 75 days UT level Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav, 2023 with the theme “Bhashein Anek & Bhav Ek” was held at Teacher Bhawan Jammu.
The programme was organised by the Samagra Shiksha, under the ambit of Department of School Education J&K. Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj and Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma, jointly presided over the culmination event.
Cultural items in different regional languages like Dogri, Kashmiri, Pahari, Tamil, Sarazi etc were presented on the stage to reflect the multilingual diversity of different regions of the J&K.
Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj, in his address, applauded the India’s linguistic richness and emphasised the vital role of language in shaping personalities and connecting individuals to their heritage.
He also informed that curriculum is being developed by JK BOSE in local languages and it is the priority of Education Department to reach out to the children in all local languages, which shall enhance the learning outcomes and shall also increase the literacy rate across the UT.
Director School Education Jammu Ashok Kumar Sharma, said that the Utsav is being held across the country aiming to facilitate a seamless transition from the current education ecosystem to one rooted in Bhartiya languages, in line with the NEP 2020 Vision and to set the course for a technologically enriched future for Bhartiya languages in education.
The 75- day Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav was launched by the Union Minister for Education on 30th September 2023 at New Delhi.
Joint Director School Education Department, Subha Mehta; Bilal Rashid, Deputy Director Planning; Jagdeep Padha, CEO Jammu; Mamta Sharma, DDP, and others senior officers were also present on the occasion.
State Coordinators Prem Nath, Ajeet Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Ashwani Sharma, Imran Bhukari, DEPO Billoria, District Nodal Officer, Jammu Alka Sharma, Girja Challu & Oneel Bhat also attended the function. Dr Alka Sharma conducted proceedings of the programme.
