BHADERWAH, Apr 4: After completion of 202 days of peaceful protest for restoration of Sub-District Hospital Bhaderwah and developing the new hospital on Soura pattern, which according to the BHBF was promised by the then Chief Minister and incumbent Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, a meeting of the General Council of Bhaderwah Hospital Bachao Front (BHBF) was convened today under the chairmanship of Front convener Ranbir Manhas to discuss the future course of action.
Besides members of Advisory Board and Core Committee, office bearers of various village committees of BHBF including those of Sharekhi, Bheja, Basti, Nalthi, Dharaeja, Dandi-Kansar, Rainda, Ghatti Mor, Dandi Udrana, Puneja and Mathola participated.
While elaborating on the agenda of the meeting, the convener of BHBF said that it was convened to discuss the future course of action in light of Union Health Minister’s refusal to grant appointment to the BHBF for which it had applied four months ago particularly in light of his recent visit to Doda.
“Even he didn’t bother to meet any Bhaderwahi on the Hospital issue”, said Manhas, adding that his cold shouldering was a shocking experience for the people of Bhaderwah who so far were thinking that Azad will come and solve their problems which his private secretary had created by ordering shifting of the centrally located hospital to a far flung locality.
The meeting after threadbare discussion decided to intensify the ongoing struggle by organising dharnas at Panchayat and Ward levels. It was also decided to enhance the dharna period up to 4 pm every day.
To mobilize public opinion a decision to prepare a poster for which a committee comprising Professor Kameshwar Nath Razdan, Bhagat Singh Manhas and Abdul Hafiz Fani was also constituted.
