BHADERWAH, Mar 5: The Women Wing of Bhaderwah Hospital Bachao Front (BHBF) organized a one day dharna here today wherein hundreds of women folk belonging to far flung areas joined their fellow folk of the town to lodge their protest against shifting of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah from its central location.
The protestors cautioned the Government to shun vindictive attitude towards people of Bhaderwah and adopt humane approach to solve people’s problems caused due to shifting the SDH from old complex which is centre of not only the town, but of the whole Bhaderwah valley spreading from Bhalla to Thanala.
“In contravention to the claims of the Government that medicare would be provided to the people on their door steps, the only functional health institution in the heart of the town has been shifted to a corner thereby depriving a huge population depending on it of any health facility”, the protestors claimed.
They demanded immediate resolution of the vexed issue by way of providing at least departments like Medicine, Gynae and padritotrics besides 24 hour emergency services in the old SDH complex.
Lamenting on the negative attitude of some so called well wishers of Union Health Minister, a lady protestor Sureet Sharma said that people of Bhaderwah have never been against the new hospital, their annoyance in fact is on shifting of the already existing hospital in its old complex.
The protestors invited the Union Health Minister to give maximum to Bhaderwah with the plea that if he didn’t do it now then he may not get this opportunity again to serve his own people.
The women protestors also blocked the vehicular traffic by sitting on the road in front of the Old Hospital for a couple of hours to show their anger against the Government.
