Bhim appeals President of India to rescue Jammu Province labourers

JAMMU, Apr 28: Senior Advocate Supreme Court of India and Patron-in-Chief of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), Prof Bhim Singh has appealed President of India for his urgent intervention to ensure safe return of all Jammu working people in rest of India, especially, Jammu province labourers working in Gujarat.
Prof Singh’s letter to the President reads, “I am taking this liberty urging your Excellency for urgent intervention to save the starving Jammu province boys from Billawar-Basohli-Kathua, who have lost their jobs a month back and have been sulking in deserted go-downs in Ahmadabad, Purana Road Piplaj Vikas Transport. There are about 250 boys from Kathua district who were in the cloth mills in Piplaj.”
With this letter, Prof Bhim has also attached a list of some of the boys from Kathua district held up in go-downs of the cloth mills, Piplaj.
The letter further reads, “It shall be gracious of your Excellency if you may intervene in this matter to ensure that all boys from Jammu and Kashmir working as the labourers outside the State and now starving in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and other States are provided reasonable transportation facilities to return to their homes in Jammu & Kashmir.”
“The Union Govt was kind to airlift some of the students, labourers and drop them in Kashmir, Kargil and Leh last week. I would like to urge for kind intervention of your Excellency to issue appropriate instructions/directives to the Union Govt to arrange requisite transport for those stranded in different States and send them back to Jammu/Kashmir/Ladakh wherever their families are residing. This will be great message of love for humanity and the youth of Jammu & Kashmir,” Prof Singh maintained in the letter.
