Bhim seeks release of political prisoners

Srinagar, May 15 :  Panthers Party Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh who is also Member of National Integration Council met Kashmiri leaders in Valley during his three-day stay.
Prof. Singh met Mirwais Moulvi Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Hurriyat Conference at his Nagin residence. He also met Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) at his residence where he has been under house arrest for several days.
Prof. Singh during his one to one meeting discussed several issues confronting the people of J&K. He also met PDP Chief Patron, Mufti Mohd. Sayeed and received Panthers Party leader of Bandipora, Mohd. Iqbal Jan on his release from Central Jail, Srinagar late last evening. Iqbal Jan District President of Bandipora was acquitted by Delhi High Court.
Prof. Bhim Singh also met several other angry Kashmiri leaders with a message that the election result in Pakistan should open their mind and accept the reality of political scenario. Prof. Singh said that his meeting with Kashmiri leaders of the opposite polls was highly useful as the combinations and the permutations in the sub-continent have undergone a sea-change on the ground and it is right time for angry Kashmiri leadership to respond to the needs of the people in the Valley by putting up a joint front in the Valley and jumping into the electoral battle in case they seriously desire to seek equity and justice for them.
Prof. Singh also called on N.N. Vohra, the Governor of J&K with Panthers Party delegation and sought his intervention for the release of all political prisoners detained under PSA and speedy trial of all prisoners. He said that calling residence of PoK via Nepal is not only illegal but dangerous for the security of the state as no foreigner can be allowed to enter J&K via Nepal.
