JAMMU, Sept 21: Chief Patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) and Member of National Integration Council Prof Bhim Singh has described the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that, “The Muslims shall live and die for India” as highly provocative that casts doubt on the integrity of a particular community or the integrity of their nationalism.
He said that Mr Modi should have thought over the words used and understood their meaning if he did not mean what the statement would be understood.
Addressing Panthers Party activists, Prof Singh said that the Muslims are as good Indians as anybody else including him or Mr Modi. He said that the Muslims living in India had a choice in 1947 yet they stood with their land i.e. India. Shall Mr Modi, the NPP leader questioned, use the same statement for the Hindus or the Christians or the Sikhs, or the Buddhists and others. Does he doubt the integrity of a particular community only because they are Muslims?
On the statement of Bilawal Bhutto that he would take entire J&K, the NPP leader wondered about the immaturity of the statement on behalf of Foreign Office which said that entire J&K belongs to India.
