JAMMU, Aug 28: Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, Bhupinder Kumar today dedicated the coupon based Sewa Bharti food corner for attendants of the patients at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.
The whole team of Sewa Bharti was present in the inauguration ceremony. The authorities of the Sewa Bharti said that they will be going in a phased wise manner to cover Super Specialty Hospital, SMGS Hospital and other Associated Hospitals of GMC Jammu for the food service. Further, they said that at present only health and vegetarian, quality morning meal should be provided to the needy and subsequently, the service shall be extended for all 3 major meals.
Later, the Administrative Secretary visited various sections of the Hospital and inspected the newly installed MRI, Fribroscan machine and Bhabhatron Telecobalt machine area in the Department of Radiation Oncology.
Bhupinder said though a lot of development and upgradation are happening on the ground in GMC Jammu but there is lot to be done to change the public perception and made this institute a centre of academic, clinical and research excellence.
Thereafter, the Secretary chaired a meeting of HoDs and faculty members of the Institute. He was apprised by Principal GMC Jammu Dr Ashutosh Gupta that the Chopra Nursing Home shall be operationalized and dedicated to the public at the earliest. Dr Ashutosh also apprised the Administrative Secretary about the present status of the new Cath Lab. Further, he apprised Bhupinder about the status of Milk, Sperm, Ovum Bank at MCH Gandhi Nagar, the first of its kind in the UT.
Bhupinder reaffirmed that Bone & Joint Hospital with full capacity will be dedicatedly to the public at the earliest. He further advised that attempt should be made to strengthen the super specialty services in GMC Jammu. He reassured that all pending issues like 3-tier as per NMC norms shall be introduced very soon to make the recruitment rules uniform across the UT.
The Administrative Secretary further advised that henceforth all proposals for machinery and equipment to the JKMSCL should be submitted with price availability certificate.
