JAMMU, Jan 19: Secretary, Public Works (Roads and Buildings) Department, Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting to review performance and functioning of all Zones of PWD besides assessing progress on works under execution in these zones at Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by the Director, Finance PWD; Chief Engineers of Central Kashmir, North Kashmir, South Kashmir, Jammu, Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley zones, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and other concerned officers both in person and through virtual mode.
During the meeting, the Secretary took comprehensive assessment of all the works being executed in these zones besides reviewing physical and financial achievements of all the mega ongoing projects.
While reviewing progress and achievements of Zone Central Kashmir, the Secretary emphasized upon the officers to complete all the works within the stipulated timeline. He stressed upon them to maintain synergy and coordination with other stake holders to remove all bottlenecks hindering the pace of works.
Bhupinder Kumar also emphasized upon the officers to establish a proper mechanism for monitoring of all ongoing works so that the minor bottlenecks be resolved for better implementation. He also asked them for timely tendering for all the approved works.
During the meeting, the Secretary reviewed the physical and financial status of different works under different schemes including NABARD RIDF, CRIF, UT Sector works, Bridge sector, Cities and Town roads, PRI, Buildings, Mega projects like construction of College/Lab block, 250 bedded IPD block at SKIMS, new OPD Block in Super Specialty Hospital Srinagar and new High Court complex, Bemina Srinagar etc.
Later, Bhupinder Kumar chaired a meeting to review the overall functioning and progress of works under execution in PW(R&B) department in Zone South Kashmir besides physical and financial status of all ongoing construction works in different sector.
He emphasised upon the executing agency to handover the projects nearing completion, so that they can be dedicated for public use at the earliest.
Earlier, the Secretary also chaired series of meetings to review and discuss progress on works under execution in Jammu, Chenab Valley and Peer Panjal Zones of R&B Department.
Secretary emphasized on paramount importance of maintaining quality in execution of works, underscoring that the department is committed to ensure highest standards in all projects. He highlighted the positive impact of these infrastructure projects on the local community, emphasizing enhancement of connectivity, accessibility, and overall well-being.
