JAMMU, Jan 11: Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jammu branch elected its executive body in the elections and Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) held today.
Dr Bhupinder Singh was elected as the president of the Association, while Dr Gautam Sharma was unopposed elected as the president of the Association for the year 2016, till then he will continue as the general secretary of the Association.
Dr Rajiv Mengi, Oral Pathologist at Institute of Dental Sciences will continue as the treasurer of the Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ritesh Gupta outgoing president appealed to all the Dental Surgeons of Jammu province to join the Indian Dental Association to make it a strong body and work for the upliftment of Dental profession.
Others who were elected included Dr O P Singh, vice-president, Dr Umang Jamwal as assistant secretary, Dr Kunal Vuthoo as convener CDE, Dr.Sarang Khajuria, convener CDH and Dr Himja Mengi as representative to State Government.
IDA Jammu has been organizing dental health awareness camps, professional seminars and practical workshops for the dental fraternity.
It is pertinent to mention here that IDA is a professional, non-political association and its mission is to improve the oral health of the public by innovation in education, training, research, and related public health enhancement programmes.
