Bihar resident among two arrested with 20 kgs ganja

JAMMU, Nov 28: Continuing its drive against narcotics smugglers, Bahu Fort and Narwal Police arrested two drug peddlers including one hailing from Bihar and recovered around 20 kilograms of ganja from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by ASI Manzoor Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO East Sajad Sarwar laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 19.400 kilograms of ganja from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused was identified as Ranjeet Rajak, son of Bhirgu Nath Rajak of Village Ghartwalia, District Siwan, Bihar.
Meanwhile, on specific information a team from Police Post Narwal led by PSI Sunil Singh under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and SDPO East Sajad Sarwar laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler along with 800 grams ganja.
The arrested person was identified as Sandeep Kumar, son of Madan Lal, a resident of Rajeev Nagar District Jammu.
Cases under FIR Numbers 379/2021 and 380/2021 under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SP City South Deepak Digra.
