Jablipora in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara town in Anantnag district had to come up with a fruit market complex but the construction work on it going on for six years, is still incomplete . It is not that the market complex is of a size of that dimension to have construction process of such a long time but the Government showed keen interest in the construction of the market on modern lines in 2013 in the interests of the growers of fruits and others who trade in it and have to visit the market to overcome the difficulties which they faced in the absence of a modern spacious market. 440 kanals of land too was, accordingly, notified for the purpose .
That the market is still incomplete and not fit for occupancy is irking the prospective beneficiaries who suffer presently due to its incomplete status. The project has potential other than just for selling and buying the fruits in the shape of providing and creating job opportunities for hundreds of the youth of the area. Since the government is committed towards development of Horticulture , it should show it practically by ensuring early completing of the construction work so that the market became operational.
