JAMMU, July 2: Police claimed today that they have arrested a bike lifter from New Plot area here and recovered one stolen motorcycle from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Post (PP) Rehari by one Sunil Singh son of Karan Singh of Village Gole Pattan, Tehsil Marh, District Jammu, regarding theft of his motorcycle from the area under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga Jammu.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, he said, an FIR number 83/2023 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation taken up.
During investigation, teams of Police Station Pacca Danga led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar assisted by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Sushil Kumar and incharge Police Post Rehari PSI Anil Kumar, rounded up a suspect identified as Rohit of Gurdaspur at present Lane Number 6, New Plot Jammu, who confessed to his involvement in the theft.
“On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle got recovered,” said the spokesperson, adding that further investigation is underway.
