JAMMU, Oct 17: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) today claimed they have arrested a bike lifter and recovered a stolen two-wheeler from his possession.
A police official said on October 16, 2024, one Bansi Lal son of Tirth Ram of Railway Line Gagian, tehsil RS Pura, district Jammu, lodged a written complaint with Police Station RS Pura stating therein that his scooty was stolen from outside his house on October 15, 2024.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 227/2024 under section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, he said, one Rohit Kumar of Ghazipur Kullian, tehsil RS Pura, district Jammu was detained for questioning.
He said during sustained questioning, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen vehicle was recovered from his possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
