*2 burglary cases solved, goods seized

RAJOURI, July 30: The police busted a gang involved in bike lifting and recovered 15 bikes, motor-cycles from the possession of accused.
Talking to the media-persons here today, SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar, who was flanked by DySP Headquarters, Satish Kumar and SHO Rajouri Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani said that on April 16, 2024 a written complaint was filed in Police Station Rajouri by a resident of Dhanour, Jarallan in Rajouri who stated that he parked his motorcycle bearing registration number JK11E-4637 outside his residence but next morning the vehicle was missing.
On receipt of this complaint, a case FIR No. 273/2024 U/S 379 IPC was registered and investigation started during which several suspects were rounded up. With the assistance of CCTV footage and technical analysis, one Shoket Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Kundar Dhan in Tehsil Chasana of district Reasi was identified as main suspect and detained for questioning during which he confessed about theft of the motorcycle.
SSP further said that Shoket was arrested in the instant case and on his disclosure, his three other associates namely- Aftar Hussain, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Kalakote; Mudasir Mir, son of Parvaiz Mir, resident of Shar, Tehsil Mahore, district Reasi and Zafar Hussain, son of Abdul Hussain, resident of Kote Dhara, Tehsil Rajouri were arrested.
With these arrests, 15 stolen motorcycles worth around Rs 25 lakhs were recovered and four cases under FIR No’s 273, 292, 314 and 326 of 2024 registered at PS Rajouri stands solved, the SSP claimed.
Randeep Kumar further added that sincere efforts of police team led by SHO Rajouri also resulted in solving two more burglaries committed in Rajouri in respect of which, two FIR No’s 67 and 186 of 2024 were under investigation.
He said during investigation of two burglaries, three burglars namely- Sharn Sharma alias Sunny, son of Satish Kumar, resident of Rajouri; Anil Singh, son of Prem Singh, resident of Ransoo and Nadeem Khan, son of Mohd Kabir, resident of Nerojal Saj were arrested.
Thorough questioning of arrested trio, resulted in recoveries of gold and electronic items valuing around Rs 6 lakhs. Kumar said there is possibility of some more recoveries from them.
