Bike lifting gang busted, 7 motorcycles seized

RAJOURI, June 27: The police in Rajouri have successfully smashed a bike-lifting gang, operating in Darhal area of Thannamandi sub-division, recovering seven stolen motorcycles.
A police official said Khalil Ahmed, son of Mohd Iqbal a resident of Chokiyan, Tehsil Darhal lodged a complaint at Police Station Darhal reporting the theft of his Pulsar bike (Registration No. JK11H 0401) during the night of June 23-24, 2024 from Ujhan. Acting swiftly, a case (FIR No. 49/2024 U/S 379 IPC) was registered and police teams immediately began their investigation.
Utilizing both human and technical intelligence, the team apprehended Imran Choudhary, son of Ch Riaz a resident of Kurhad Tehsil Kotranka. Upon sustained interrogation Imran confessed to the crime and implicated Shah Nawaz, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Panihad also from Tehsil Kotranka.
Both suspects admitted their involvement in the theft and disclosed the location of the stolen bike which was subsequently recovered. Further interrogation revealed the whereabouts of six additional stolen motorcycles, which were recovered as follows- Pulsar black color Chassis No MD2DHDHNCF60625, Pulsar black color Chassis No MD2DHDHZZUCB58268, Pulsar black color Chassis No MD2A11CX3LRF7526, Splendor black color Chassis No MBLHAW116LHK73119, Splendor black color Chassis No MBLHAW127MHF04753 and One of these motorcycles (Registration No. JK11G 7716) was reported stolen on 1 April 2024 from Dodaj with a case (FIR No 18/2024, U/S 379 IPC) already registered at Police Station Darhal.
The swift action and arrests were made by a team led by Habib Pathan, SHO Darhal with supervision from Viqar Younus Bhat, SDPO Thannamandi ASP HQs Rajouri Mussadiq Basu and overall supervision by Amritpal Singh, SSP Rajouri.
The people of Rajouri have praised the police for their prompt action and successful recovery of stolen property within 24 hours.
