Bike theft case worked out: Police

JAMMU, Oct 10: Police in Jammu’s Bahu Fort area claimed today they have solved a bike theft case by arresting the accused besides recovering the stolen two-wheeler from his possession.
A police official said on October 8, a complaint was received from one Vijay Kumar son of Tara Chand of Hakkal Chatha Jammu regarding theft of his motorcycle from Bahu Fort area.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 253/2024 under section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the police officer said that the investigating team led by Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, SHO Bahu Fort and Head Constable Mohammad Younis, IO of the case, analysed the CCTV footage of the area and based on other information gathered from different sources, detained one suspect identified as Sanjeev Sharma of Digiana at present Meenia Mohalla, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
During sustained questioning, he said the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen vehicle was recovered from his possession.
