JAMMU, July 10: A man was killed today on the spot at Kaluchak area of city outskirts when an Innova car hit the bike he was riding on.
The mishap occurred this evening at about 6 pm near Pari Mahal in Kaluchak area falling under the limits of Gangyal police station. The collision between the bike (bearing registration No JK21A-9408) and car (bearing registration No JK02BB-9245) was so intensive that the biker identified as Rohit Saxena (27) son of Umesh Saxena, a resident of UP (at present Uflex Company, Bari-Brahamana), died on the spot.
On getting reports, the flying squad of Gangyal police station reached the spot and shifted the dead body of the deceased to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where post mortem on the body will be conducted tomorrow.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Gangyal and vehicles involved in the accident seized. However, the accused driver managed to escape.
