JAMMU, June 9: A 23-year-old bike-borne youth was killed today in a road mishap in Kunjwani area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a young man identified as Shubam Sharma son of Ravi Kant, resident of Smailpur (Bari-Brahmana) received serious injuries when he lost control over the bike, which jumped the divider and collided with a truck on other tube of the highway at Kunjwani. He said the mishap occurred today at about 6:15 PM near Pari Mahal.
“The seriously injured youth was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” the official said, adding the body was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital and postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
He said the bike and the truck involved in the mishap were bearing registration number JK02AH-3627 and JK18-8600, respectively. “A case in this connection has been registered at police station Gangyal and further investigations started,” the official further added.
