JAMMU, Apr 24: A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider got injured when their two wheeler hit Passenger shed at Maheshwar area of Samba district today.
Police said that, the deceased has been identified as Livelesh Bansal, 30, son of Lavra and the injured was identified as Anil, 24, son of Charanji both residents of Nagra M.P at present Jatwal, Samba. The mishap occurred at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Maheshwar area of Samba, when a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK21D- 0305 moving towards Ghagwal from Samba, suddenly hit a passenger shed at Maheshwar after the biker lost the control , with the result both biker and pillion rider suffered critical injuries.
Local people immediately took them to District Hospital Samba (DHS) for treatment where doctor declared Livelesh Bansal as brought dead and the injured is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Later the body of the deceased was shifted to the mortuary room of District Hospital Samba for legal formalities.
In this regard, police have taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigation.
