Billawar police solves blind murder

KATHUA, June 3: Billawar police has solved a blind murder case of a PHE employee within days of his murder by arresting the criminal involved in his killing.
According to SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal a dead body of a PHE employees namely Mohammed Ishaq, son of Shamas-ud- Din of Kotli, Ward No 2 , Billawar was found near Charai dug well, Billawar. The police after taking the body in its custody and completing all formalities to handover the same to its family members for last rites, initiated inquest proceedings U/S 174 CRPC to ascertain the actual cause of the death.
The SSP said during the course of enquiry, it was found that the deceased was murdered and accordingly a case FIR No 59/2014 U/S 302 RPC was registered at P/S Billawar and investigations started.
Mohan Lal said in view of the sensitivity of the case and gravity of the offense he constituted a special team headed by SDPO Basohli for investigation who was assisted by SHO Billawar Inspector Naresh Sharma. During the course of investigation different aspects of the life of the deceased were studied and one suspect namely Joginder, son of Madan Lal of Mansar was zeroed, he added.
The SSP said based on his movements and activities in Billawar area particularly on the day when Ishaq was murdered, it was established that Joginder had illicit relations with the wife of the deceased. The wife of the deceased had conspired with her paramour and instigated him to eliminate her husband as she never wanted to live with him in view of their stranded relations and frequent scuffles/ arguments, Mohan Lal added.
He said to plot the killing, the wife of the deceased called Joginder and informed him about the movements of her husband on the day when crime was committed by later and subsequently Mohammed Ishaq who was working as motor man in the PHE Department was intercepted by Joginder near Charai dug well Billawar situated on the bank of river Naj during wee hours of May 23 when he was returning from duty. Joginer inflicted sharp edge injuries on the back of Ishaq’s neck with stones killing him on spot, Mr Lal added.
The SSP said the investigation of case are in progress.
