JAMMU, Feb 6: The Deputy Mayor, Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria along with corporator Ward No. 12 and former Chairman JMC, Jeet Angral kick started the work of slab near the back side of Guru Ravidass Mandir, Krishna Nagar Ward No 12.
The Deputy Mayor was accompanied by Executive Engineer, AEE, JMC officials. The work will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 37.40 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor said that it was with the efforts of the local corporator that five feet road has been widened to 22 feet with concrete work.
He attributed the completion of the project to the vision of road and Highway Minister, Nitin Gadkari to construct concrete roads and reduce the cost of work with the good quality of work. He said that the locals of the area were facing a lot of inconvenience due to the lack of proper road connectivity and other basic amenities.
He appealed to the people of the area to cooperate with the JMC and extend their full support in the completion of the works.
Former Chairman JMC, Jeet Angral said that it was a long pending demand of the public. At first it was a five feet road and it was very difficult for vehicles to get inside the area during the time of emergency. He said that he has put up a resolution for a 20 feet road in the house of JMC which has been passed. It is due to the efforts of members of the community that this project has been approved. He also said that this up gradation was long awaited demand of residents as this road will provide a better connectivity to the residents of the Ward and his goal is to make Ward No.12 a modern ward of Jammu city.
He, while complimenting Deputy Mayor said he has been taking keen interest for the development of Jammu city. His commitment to the betterment of the citizens of Jammu through his tireless efforts is really commendable, he added.
During the inauguration, Surjit Singh Chib, Jatinder Kour, Varinder Dogra, Ramesh Kumar, Anil Angral, Swarn Samyal, Kuldeep Kumar, Tarun Angral, Manmohan Sharma and others were present.
