JAMMU, Feb 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria along with councillor, Sunita Koul kick started construction of deep drain work at Ward Number 4, Moti Bazar, Tilak Road and adjoining areas here, today.
These works are being executed under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at a cost of about Rs 35 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that the Jammu East constituency is amongst the most developed constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that since the BJP took over the charge of Jammu Municipal Corporation the development has reached every nook and corner and it can be seen from the work done.
Billawaria said that Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is ensuring total quality of work in Jammu city and it will give relief to the people for decades not years. Spending money again and again on one task is a waste of public money which was there during the erstwhile Congress Coalition Government, he added.
While appreciating councillor, Sunita Koul for making Ward Number 04 a Model Ward, he said that she is always worried about the development related problems of the people of her ward.
Sunita Koul said that people were facing problems due to the poor condition of this deep drain. Due to the breach of the boundary wall of the drain the dirty water used to come out which was feared to spread all the infectious diseases, she added. She said that there was an old demand of the people to construct the drain which has been fulfilled now and people will get a lot of relief from the construction work of this deep drain. She complimented Billawaria for always supporting any kind of development related works.
Geeta Sharma, Darshan Devi, Vijay Kumari, Chanchla Vaid, Dolly, Sushma Kumari, Meenu Dogra, Raj Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Suresh Gupta, Pradeep Singh, Sonu Singh, Ramesh Gupta and others were also present on the occasion.
