JAMMU, Jan 10: Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, is organising Janata Darbar in various wards of Jammu city, in which the problems are being resolved by contacting the residents of the ward.
In this connection Deputy Mayor held a Janata Darbar at Ward 45 Digiana in Bahu constituency in which a large number of residents participated. Billawaria on the occasion highlighted the major development works done by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in Ward 45 Digiana in the last four years.
He said that after the demise of senior BJP leader and local corporator, Raj Rani, the pace of development work slowed down in the Ward which is being speeded up once again. He said that BJP is committed to fulfil the resolution of Ex corporator, Raj Rani had taken to make Ward number 45 a Modern Ward.
Deputy Mayor, said that people presented many problems to him most of which were related to water logging and sanitation. He said that apart from settling the problems of the common people at the initial level, necessary guidelines are being given for its redressal by fixing the responsibility of the concerned officers for other problems as well.
While listening to the problems of the people, Billawaria solved most of them on the spot. On the other hand, while setting a time limit for the solution of some problems, instructions were given to the concerned officials to solve their problems. He said that basic problems like water, electricity, good roads, cleanliness in the Ward will be solved. He assured the people that several other projects in the area would start soon and would be completed in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Mayor said that once the sequence of all the wards is completed, Janata Darbar will be organized again in the same order in all the wards in which, along with the hearing of new problems, the problems listened earlier in the Janata Darbar and the progress report of its redressal will also be reviewed.
Satpal Choudhary, Vinod Sharma, Harvinder Singh, Devi Das, Kashmir Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Ritika Kumari and officials of various departments were present on the occasion.
