JAMMU, Sept 7: BJP senior leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria today kick started the work for the construction of lanes at Ward 45, Digiana in Gandhi Nagar constituency. The works will be constructed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 2.50 lakh approximately. The locals expressed their gratitude to Billawaria for taking up this work on priority.
On this occasion, Billawaria said that with the start of these works, the long pending demands of the people have been redressed and the concerned Department looking after the construction works will complete it in a stipulated period of time. Highlighting the achievements in the Gandhi Nagar constituency, Billawaria said that several exemplary measures have been taken to improve the living standard of the people in the constituency adding that for this purpose Central Government has provided liberal funding under various developmental sectors for developing every corner with improved basic amenities.
He said that people of the area should personally monitor the quality of ongoing developmental works in their respective areas, so that their involvement in developmental activities can build up the force of co-operation between Government and public in order to improve the development. He said provision for adequate drinking water facilities, improved power, medicare facilities and infrastructural facilities to the people besides better lanes and drains are being paid first attention.
Later, Billawaria also toured other adjoining areas of the Ward. During the tour, residents of the Ward apprised Billawaria that due to breakdown of the boundary wall on the Nallah, during the rainy season when the nallah overflows and the dirty water enters the houses. Taking cognizance, BJP leader Billawaria immediately asked the concerned officials to prepare an estimate of the boundary wall on the Nallah so that a major relief could be provided to the inhabitants.
Satpal Chaudhary, Magar Singh, Varinder Gupta, Puran Chand, Mohinder Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Tilak Raj and others were also present on the occasion.
