JAMMU, Aug 22: Continuing the drive to provide better development as well as basic facilities to the people, Deputy Mayor, Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the construction of lanes and drains at Ekta Vihar in RS-Pura Jammu -South constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the work was started to fulfil the promises made to the people before the Municipal elections. Deputy Mayor Jammu said that this was a long pending demand of the local people and now the demand has been fulfilled. He said that with the construction of this lane and drains will also provide relief from the problem of water logging during rainy days. Deputy Mayor said that earlier in the name of development only drums and name plates were seen on the walls but the development has been started by the Modi Government from the ground level.
He said that the general public was exploited by the Congress in the name of development while no development was done on ground. Deputy Mayor Jammu further said that the elders would remember the condition in the Congress regime, as there was no electricity. He said that the public has also seen the time when they had to wait for several days when the transformer was damaged. The delegation of the area had to go to the ministers and local leaders then transformers were installed in their areas but now the situation has changed the faulty transformers are replaced on the same day.
He said that the BJP is the only party that is committed to solve the problems of the people and as a local representative he is bound to solve every problem of the people not in his Ward but the entire Jammu. Local residents and social activists complimented Deputy Mayor for fulfilling their long-standing demands and said that the Congress party had previously misled them about development work in the area.
They assured full support to the BJP. Mandal president, Ranjit Singh, Harbans Choudhary, Jugal Kishore, Rakesh Sangral, Om Nath, Bansi Lal, Darshan Lal, Nikish Bhasin, Manjeet Singh, Govinder Singh, Ashok Kumar, Capt. Roop Singh, Harvinder Singh were also present.
