JAMMU, Mar 6: Senior BJP leader and corporator, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the construction work of the Receiving Station, a 2×10 MVA, 33/11KV approximately which will be constructed at Rs four crore at Bandhu Rakh in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
The Receiving Station was inaugurated in the presence of Pritam Singh, corporator Kunjwani, Ashok Chibber, Executive Engineer, PDD officials, L&T officials, Ward members and a large number of local public and senior citizens of the Kunjwani were also present on the occasion.
In order to mitigate the power scarcity in Bandhu Rakh, Kunjwani, Apna Vihar, Seora some area of Greater Kailash and adjoining areas besides improving power supply, the Receiving Station was proposed by J&K Power Development Department (PDD) and approved under PMDP-Urban Scheme.
Accordingly, two kanals of land was allotted to J&K PDD by JDA for construction of this Receiving Station under Khasara No 62 at Greater Jammu in the month of September 2019. This Receiving Station being exactly on the load center will not only provide stable power supply to residents of Bandhu Rakh, Kunjwani and adjoining areas but also open avenues for upcoming industries and commercial establishments in the entire area. Construction of this Receiving Station is in line with the commitment of the Government of J&K for providing an uninterrupted 24×7 power supply in general public.
After kick starting the work, Billawaria said that the BJP is committed for overall development of State and development projects of public importance have been taken up on priority basis on the principal of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Satha, Sabka Vishwas’. He said that after the complete work of Receiving Station the local residents of the adjoining area will feel “Acche Din” as promised by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The locals commended the role of Billawaria for starting the construction work of Receiving Station. Others present on occasion were Harbans Choudhary, Jyoti Prakash Sharma, Puppy Kumar, Ranjit Singh, Rakesh Sangral, Jugal Kishore, Mulkh Raj, Ajmer Chib, Monu Salathia, Joginder Chib, Abhinandan Sharma, Mandeep Choudhary, Balwan Singh, Yash Raj Verma, Sunny Sharma, Hardeep Singh, Aditya Sharma, Rinku Singh, Kawaljeet Singh, Om Nath.
