JAMMU, Dec 29: Former Deputy Mayor of Jammu and senior BJP leader Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the development works at Gangyal, here today.
The works were started following the directions of RS Pura-Jammu South MLA Dr Narinder Singh and approximately rupees 12 lakh will be spent on it.
In this development work, the construction work of lane and drain along with the installation of iron grating on the drains will be done under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Launching the development works, Billawaria said that this was a long pending demand of the local people because the lanes and drains in the area were in dilapidated condition for a long time and the local residents were facing a lot of problems while passing through these lanes.
“MLA Dr Narinder Singh has already started the construction work of about two lanes in Gangyal area and now on his directions, the construction work of other lanes has been started. The areas in RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly, which were deprived of development work, their work will also be started in a phased manner,” he said.
He asked the officials to prepare an estimate that has left works of lanes and drains so that their development work can be done as soon as possible.
“The goal of the Modi Government is to give development to the people and the BJP party believes in showing work on the ground so that the last person standing in the last row gets benefitted,” he added.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Mandal President Ranjit Singh, Ajay Pratap Singh, Balwant Kumar, Suresh Mishra, Jugal Kishore, Om Nath, Yash Raj, Dr Kuldeep Gupta, Sunny Kumar and Romi Singh.
