JAMMU, Jan 7: Former Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started laying of drinking water pipeline in Gangyal in R S Pura constituency today.
These development works will be completed at an estimated cost of about Rupees seven lakh. The work will be executed under the supervision of Jal Shakti Department.
Launching the development works, Billawaria said that the residents of two lanes of this area were facing severe problem of potable water. Now, the work of laying water pipeline has started and after its completion, drinking water will reach every house in the area and people will not have any problem.
Billawaria further said that work will be started soon wherever the drinking water supply line is affected in the area. He said that RS Pura-Jammu South MLA Dr Narinder Singh is constantly solving the problems of the people and following his directions, this development work was started. He instructed the contractor to repair the road in the lanes after laying the drinking water pipeline so that people do not face any problem. He also directed the concerned department officials to identify the presence of drinking water spots where there is leakage of drinking water pipes so that the wastage of clean water could be curbed. He said that it is the duty of the Government to provide basic necessities like road, electricity and potable water to the people and all the BJP workers are committed to fulfill the basic demands of the general public. Appealing to the youth to stay away from the increasing drug addiction, Billawaria said that the youth should show more inclination towards sports as this will keep them away from the bad habit of drug addiction and will also keep their friends away from it. The locals expressed gratitude to Billawaria for fulfilling the long pending demand of the potable water problem of the area. Mandal president, Ranjeet Singh, Rakesh Sangral, Mulkh Raj, Hardeep Singh, Punjab Singh, M K Raina, Makhan Lal Raina, Om Nath, Kuldeep Kumar, Rajesh Kachru, Ramesh Chaudhary and other dignitaries were present.
