JAMMU, Oct 20: Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria along with former MLC, Vikram Randhawa today kick started blacktopping of road leading to the ancient Shiv Mandir near Jammu Airport.
This construction work is being executed under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD). Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the people of the area continuously demanded the laying of blacktopping on this road and their demand has been fulfilled after two decades. He said that for years the people of the area were struggling for the construction of this road, now after the road is made concrete, thousands of people will get relief.
He said that the completion of the work on this road will benefit the people of the two constituencies. He said that the Modi Government at the Centre is providing all kinds of basic facilities to the people living in urban & rural areas. Billawaria said that most of the roads in the area have been concreted and the work on the remaining ones will also start soon. He assured the people of the area that every one of their problems would be solved.
Billawaria said that in the coming days, along with repairing other roads, the work of laying blacktopping on them will be started, so that the road related problems of the common people can be solved. He said that he will continue his efforts for development work in every area of Jammu city.
While speaking on the occasion Vikram Randhawa said that road connectivity is the key to progress of any area and keeping in mind the upliftment and miseries of the people the blacktopping work on the road has been started today. He said that the work would be completed soon so that the people may not suffer anymore as the rainy season is going on and without a road people face many hardships to travel. The construction and completion of this road will help people to reach their destinations smoothly which will reduce their travel time as well as will save money also, he added.
He asked the executing agency to not compromise with the quality of the material for better durability of the road. BJP Mandal president, Bharat Bhushan along with the workers welcomed Billawaria and Randhawa. Bharat Bhushan said that due to the efforts of Billawaria and senior BJP leaders, the demand for laying blacktopping was fulfilled.
