Billawaria visits Shastri Nagar, discusses people’s problems

JAMMU, July 12: Former Deputy Mayor Jammu and senior BJP leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria visited Ward 22 Shastri Nagar, adjoining area of Gandhi Nagar in RS Pura-Jammu South constituency to discuss the problems being faced by the people regarding roads, sanitation, maintenance of parks and other development related issues.
During the visit, a delegation of Small Plot Welfare Association, Gandhi Nagar also submitted a memorandum to former Deputy Mayor Jammu regarding the pending development works and maintenance of parks. The local residents apprised the former Deputy Mayor Jammu that some of the roads and drains in the area are in pathetic condition and should be renovated soon.
Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the delegation of the Small Plot Welfare Association had made a special request to him to visit the area. Billawaria said that during the visit many things came to light and useful discussions were held with the local residents. He assured the members of the Association that the matter of laying of pipes for water in the park along with the installation of sprinkler fountains and other development work would be brought to the notice of Jammu MP Jugal Kishore Sharma so that the pending development works could be taken up in hand in a phased manner.
Further, he said that extensive road works would be carried out to improve the overall connectivity within the ward by taking the matter into the notice of the concerned department. He assured the local residents that all their grievances would be addressed and better basic services would be provided to them. Billawaria further said that the area currently has inadequate sanitation facilities, which need immediate attention. Billawaria directed the Corporation officials to strengthen the dilapidated sanitation system in Ward 22 Shastri Nagar and to properly clean the area so that the residents can get clean and hygienic facilities. Small Plot Welfare Association Gandhi Nagar president, Surjit Singh Sodhi, Shivpal Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Amit Sharma, Khushdev Singh, Sushil Kumar, Darshan Kumar and other prominent people of the area were present.
